Any router configured with multiple WAN interfaces running OpenWrt 12.09 or later should work. Just pick a device with good OpenWrt support, preferably one with VLAN support for the additional interface flexibility VLAN support provides. At least three interfaces need to exist for the minimal configuration: inside LAN, WAN and WANB.
The AsusWRT firmware supports something called “Dual WAN” - an option to have two Internet channels connected. Apart from the dedicated Ethernet WAN port, you can either plug in a 3G USB modem, or use one of the 4 LAN ports for a second WAN. In my case, I connected the ADSL modem to LAN. Dual WAN works in two modes. The device features three Gigabit Ethernet ports and built-in 2.4 GHz WiFi 4 connectivity, but it also supports Alfa AWUS036AC and AWUS036ACS USB WiFf USB dongles for users wanting dual-band WiFi 5 (AC) networking. The router ships with OpenWrt pre-installed, but also supports Ubuntu.
